How to Apply

2021 Entering Freshman Scholarship Twin Cities Chapter applications will be available January 1, 2021.  Completed applications and transcripts must be postmarked no later than Thursday, April 1, 2021.

To recommend someone for a scholarship, please contact Pam Ohno Dagoberg (763-557-2946, scholarship@tcjacl.org).

Scholarship recipients must be current JACL members. Regular/Individual, Student/Youth, or Couple/Family membership status is required. Individual membership of a parent does not qualify the student to receive a scholarship.

In addition to completing the application form and submitting a transcript, students must write a short essay entitled The Relevance of JACL Today. Applicants are evaluated based on scholastic achievement, extra curricular activities, community service, and the quality of their essay.

2020 National JACL Scholarship information can be found here.  Applications are currently closed.  Information regarding the 2021 National JACL Scholarship program will be available in January 2021.

2020 Undergraduate/Graduate Scholarship application period is now closed.  Completed applications and transcripts were required to be postmarked by Monday, November 2, 2020.

Scholarships were available to current JACL – Twin Cities Chapter members enrolled in a post-secondary educational program.  Membership must be active as of September 1, 2020.  

Only one scholarship may be received during degree program.
