How to Apply

2022 Entering Freshman Scholarship Twin Cities Chapter applications will be available January 1, 2022.  Completed applications and transcripts must be postmarked no later than Friday, April 1, 2022.

To recommend someone for a scholarship, please contact Pam Ohno Dagoberg (763-557-2946, scholarship@tcjacl.org).

Scholarship recipients must be current JACL members. Regular/Individual, Student/Youth, or Couple/Family membership status is required. Individual membership of a parent does not qualify the student to receive a scholarship.

In addition to completing the application form and submitting a transcript, students must write a short essay entitled The Relevance of JACL Today. Applicants are evaluated based on scholastic achievement, extra curricular activities, community service, and the quality of their essay.

Entering Freshman Scholarship application period is closed.  2022 entering Freshmen scholarship applications will be available January 1, 2022.

2021 National JACL Scholarship information can be found here.  The National JACL scholarship program is a separate program from the Twin Cities Chapter of the JACL scholarship program and requires a different application.

National JACL Scholarship application period is closed.  More information about the National JACL Scholarship application period will be available in late 2021.

2021 Undergraduate/Graduate Scholarship application period is now open.  Completed applications and transcripts are required to be postmarked by Monday, November 1, 2021.

Scholarships are available to current JACL – Twin Cities Chapter members enrolled in a post-secondary educational program.  Membership must be active as of September 1, 2021.  

Only one scholarship may be received during degree program.
