Part-Time Program Coordinator

Twin Cities Japanese American Citizens League (TC JACL) is looking for a part-time coordinator to help develop a new annual program for youth, students, and young professionals! This is a dynamic and creative role with the support of a strong, dedicated team, and responsibilities will include (and not be limited to) professional communication, planning and executing events, managing logistics, administrative support, coordinating volunteers/participants, community outreach, and applying for grants.

    • Applicants must be local to the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, have strong organizational and relationship-building skills, and cannot already be JACL members (funding requirement, sorry!)
    • Experience connecting and working with local BIPOC communities on social justice topics is a plus!
    • $25/hr over one year (December 2024 – December 2025), with 10-15 hours of work per month.

    • Applications due Monday, December 2 at 11:59pm CT
    • Applications should consist of a resume and short cover letter referencing 2-3 relevant experiences you’ve had building relationships and supporting marginalized communities; to be submitted in PDF form to info@tcjacl.org.
    • Strong applicants will be invited for 1-2 interview rounds depending on the number of applications received; invitations will go out by December 9th, so please indicate your availability the weeks of December 9-20.
    • Final hiring decision will be made by December 16, and onboarding will begin immediately

Preview of Post-Hire Work Timeline (subject to change)

    • December 2024 – Onboarding and Assist in developing application solicitations for participants (cohort of 10)
    • January 2025 – Assist with conducting virtual identity workshop
    • February 2025 – Planning and hosting virtual and in-person social gatherings
    • March 2025 – Assist with planning and facilitation of Midwest Community Summit with dedicated youth programming currently in development
    • April 2025 – Assist with planning and facilitation of relationship-based multicultural organizing workshop
    • May 2025 – Assist with planning and facilitation of pilgrimage to George Floyd Square
    • June 2025 – Lead grant application efforts to continue funding for program director in coming years

The mission of the Japanese American Citizens League is to secure and maintain the civil rights of Japanese Americans and all others victimized by injustice and bigotry. The leaders and members of the JACL also work to promote cultural, educational and social values, and preserve the heritage and legacy of the Japanese American community.
